One name that has emerged as a target over the last couple of
weeks is Everton Ribeiro. The Cruzeiro man starred in his side’s
Championship success this year, and is being touted for inclusion in the
Brazil national side in the near future. With European interest mounting, United and Liverpool have both been linked with the left-footed playmaker, with a January move on the cards.
The South American’s agent Robson Ferreira has stated that he has been in discussions with the Old Trafford outfit over a potential transfer to Manchester.
”Man United want him. Moyes has been impressed. I’ve already been to England and talked personally with their representative,” the agent told Estadao.
“In United’s opinion he’s the complete midfielder.”
Ferreira went on to state that the final decision on his future would be down to Ribeiro.
“Everton is happy at Cruzeiro. It’s been an emotional season fighting for the title, and collective and personal honours,” he said.
“The final decision is with the player.”
Given that Ribeiro has already stated that playing for United would be a ‘dream’, it appears that the Red Devils are firmly in the driving seat to win the race for the starlet signature.
Should United move for Ribeiro in January?
