Jose Mourinho wants Chelsea to pull their socks up after Everton defeat

JOSE MOURINHO has ordered Chelsea to buck up after slamming their display at Everton.

Mourinho's men slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park which condemned The Special One to his first league defeat since returning for a second stint as Blues boss.


And, after four matches, they have already dropped five points - something it took Mourinho's Chelsea nine matches to do in his debut title-winning season in 2004/05.

The Portuguese admits his current team are a different proposition to the all-conquering outfit spearheaded by Didier Drogba in his previous regime.

Mourinho said: "We are not unbeatable. This is a different profile. This is a different team.
"I came here to work - to work with time, to develop the players and play the best we can. We have to be effective, be adult and not to be naive.

"That is what we have to work (on). We have to transform the beautiful football we play into goals.

"We are not the kind of club who will accept in a cool way that things will come.

"We are not this kind of club. We are going to chase it. The beginning of the season was hard.
"That does not help. But today is the story of a team with 21 shots that couldn't score a goal."

And Mourinho hit out at his team's failure to keep their heads when they were under pressure to score in the closing stages.

He added: "Time goes very fast when you are losing and you lose emotional control.
"After that we had some long balls into the box and that is not our game."
