Golf: Wuraola Ojo tourney set to begin

The 10th Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Memorial Golf Tournament is set to take place for the first time at the majestic Smokin Hills Golf Resort, Ilara Mokin, Ondo State between November 8 and 9, organisers have said.

The tournament, which is sponsored by Toyota (Nigeria) Limited, is organised in memory of the Late Mrs. Wuraola Ojo, wife of the Chairman of Toyota (Nigeria), Mr. Michael Ade Ojo (OON)

According to the organisers, the Shot Gun System will be adopted for this special edition, which will tee off on Friday with the women’s event while the professionals begin battle at 1p.m.

“In the afternoon of the same day, a memorial service will hold in honour of the Late Wuraola Ojo, followed by a grand reception in the evening, which will feature a documentary showing the life and times of the amiable woman whose eventful life impacted several people positively,” Kunle Ade Ojo, Executive Director, Toyota, said.

On Saturday, the men will take to the course.

Toyota would sponsor hole 7 with the latest Toyota Camry 3.5 as the Hole-In-One prize this year, while some of the latest models from the company would also be on display during the tournament.
