Attack-minded full back suffered the injury when Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson trod on his foot on Saturday.

The 28-year-old has been closely monitored by Premier League champions Manchester United ever since former Everton head coach David Moyes left Goodison Park for Old Trafford at the end of the previous campaign.

However, the Merseyside giants refused to allow their star man to team up again with the Scot at the Theatre of Dreams last summer, despite the Red Devils lodging numerous offers with Everton for Baines.

It is not believed though that those various setbacks will prevent United from returning once again for the left back as soon as the winter transfer window opens again for business in the new year, and this time it is understood that Moyes and Co will meet the Toffees’ valuation of the England international.
And with Baines’s foot injury now expected to keep the attacking full back on the sidelines for around six weeks, there is every chance that the player has been seen in an Everton shirt for the very last time.
