0The 18-year-old made his Champions League debut against Shakhtar Donetsk which means he has now played in every competition for the senior side apart from the FA Cup on what has been a remarkable journey for the youngster.
In response, as is typical of the modern day coverage of football in England, stories have begun to appear looking into the private life of Januzaj but his manager insists that they won’t find anything of note with him because of how well supported he is by his family.
“Adnan is being kept calm by his dad, he doesn’t even go out,” he said Sport Wereld.
“But we were prepared for this kind of stuff.
“That’s what happens when you play in the top of the Premier League and when there’s nothing to say about his behaviour, then they come with this.”
Januzaj has set a fine example for any youngster who wants to break into a team with his performances both on and off the field showing a maturity way beyond his age. His parents have clearly played a major role in that because his of how much focus he has on his football and nothing else.
As his agent says, false allegations like this aren’t going to harm him because they are completely unfounded and when it comes to United players, they will always be scrutinised in the public eye – it comes with the territory.
All Januzaj has to do is keep going like he is, keep his head down and ignore anything aimed at destabilising him. The way he has started this season indicates he is going to be a key player for us for years to come.
