Olivier Giroud spoke last night of his anger at the 2-0 first leg defeat, and determination to make amends. However it appears he will not be given the opportunity to do so from the start, with Karim Benzema poised to return as a starter.
French newspaper L'Equipe write: "The first significant change concerns the position of center forward. After starting in the last five matches of Les Bleus, Olivier Giroud will this time take place on the bench."
Benzema is in far better form at present than Giroud, having scored four goals and provided four assists in his last four games for Real Madrid.
Giroud currently is without a goal in his last four start for Arsenal, extended to a fifth in all competitions by virtue of his goalless display against Ukraine on Friday.
Is dropping Giroud for Benzema the right decision for France? What do you think?
