Ibrahimovic thankful for Thiago Silva return
The striker has hailed the defender's importance
to the Ligue 1 champions and is hungry to seal qualification to the
knockout stages in Europe in his side's next continental clash
Zlatan Ibrahimovic feels that the return of Thiago Silva will prove to be a big boost for Paris Saint-Germain's chances of Champions League glory. The Brazil international returned to match action in Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Anderlecht after a six-week spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury and Ibrahimovic was delighted with the centre-back's comeback.
"Thiago Silva is very important for us. When he's on the field, the team is very confident and the team becomes much better," Ibrahimovic told the official Uefa website.
The 31-year-old then went on to stress that it was important for PSG not to lose against Anderlecht before adding that they want to seal qualification against Olympiakos on matchday 5.
"If we win against Olympiakos we'll be qualified. We can do it in our next home game, so hopefully we'll do better than against Anderlecht and qualify.
"It's important that we didn't lose. It sends a clear message for Europe that we're doing well. We want to do well, we work hard for that and let's hope we can continue like that."
PSG sit atop of Group C with 10 points from four games.
