The latest match against Moldova was another push in the right
direction for the young Welsh side looking to win qualification to the
European Football Championship Under-19 cup finals. The dominant
performance saw them punish a less than equipped Moldova side that
couldn’t cope with the young Dragons movement and quality.17-year-old Swansea City striker Owain Jones scored the opening goal within the first 15 minutes, opening the door for onslaught. Cardiff City duo Tommy O’Sullivan and Abdi Noor added to Moldova’s misery getting on the score sheet before the half-time whistle went.
When the second half started, the speed of the Welsh attack only seemed to get more intense and mid-way through the second half they found the back of the net again, this time through Bradley Reid. The frustration of the Moldova side got all too much when they conceded a penalty which was converted by capped Cardiff city and Wales midfielder Declan John.
The young Chelsea star replaced Abdi Noor with 10 minutes remaining and finished the scoring off, leaving the young Moldova side utterly dejected.
