Champions League winner tips Januzaj to be Man Utd legend
May, a Champions League winner with United in 1999, believes the 18-year-old will live up to the hype by becoming the club’s next wing wizard.
“In the long term he can be as good as Ronaldo,” May told the Daily Star.
“We haven’t seen the best of him yet so, if he continues to progress the way he has been doing over the last few years, United are going to have an unbelievable player.”
“I think the club has done a fantastic job by tying him down for the next five years,” said May, who was supporting the Manchester United Foundation Chevrolet Trax ebay auction.
“However, in the long-term, he could be hard to keep hold of.
“I have watched him over the last couple of years in the reserves, where he has been the outstanding performer.
“Now he has come into the Premier League where he has done exceptionally well without really breaking sweat.
“He’s an absolute pleasure to watch and works so hard for the team. He is not just a glory hunter going for goals – he sets them up as well.
“He always puts in a shift off the ball by getting back and making tackles and generally being a good all-round team performer.
“I can’t see any flaws in his game, but United have to be careful and nurture him through the games and give him a breather when he needs one.”
