Chelsea transfers: Mourinho to swoop for Khedira
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is set to make a deadline day move for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.
Madrid have spent heavily on new additions with Gareth Bale arriving for a world-record transfer fee and Isco and Asier Illarramendi joining the Spanish giants for a combined total of almost £60 million.
Mesut Ozil is set to move from Real to Arsenal and Kaka will return to former club AC Milan as Madrid try to offload some of their squad to make room for their new players.
Khedira is another midfielder who Real are willing to let go and Mourinho is set to make last-minute move for the German international, SportsDirect News sources have revealed.
Chelsea’ Portuguese coach, who took the 26-year-old to Real from German outfit VfB Stuttgart in 2010, has already signed Andre Schurrle, Willian, Samuel Eto’o and Marco van Ginkel this summer but is still looking to bring a midfielder enforcer to Stamford Bridge and wants Khedira to fill that role.
