£100m Chelsea four fire 33 blanks

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is facing up to an offensive crisis ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues have scored just six times in five Premier League matches so far this season, with goals coming from Branislav Ivanovic, Frank Lampard, John Obi Mikel and Oscar, who has two.

Chelsea also benefited from an own-goal scored by Aston Villa defender Antonio Luna in a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge in August.

Summer recruits Andre Schurrle, who arrived from Bayer Leverkusen, and Samuel Eto'o, who joined from Anzhi Makhachkala, were signed to bolster Mourinho's already impressive attacking line-up.

Brazil midfielder Willian also arrived towards the end of the summer transfer window in a £30 million deal with Anzhi, to join players such as Spain international Fernando Torres and Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard in the Chelsea attack.

Willian is yet to make his Premier League bow for Chelsea, but Hazard, Schurrle, Torres and Eto'o - signed for a combined total of £100m - are the most culpable players in what has been a disappointing start to the new campaign. 

The four players, who last season scored a combined total of 78 goals, have failed to hit the back of the net for Chelsea this term, despite taking 33 shots on target.  

Chelsea travel to White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime to take on Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently joint top of the Premier League. 
The Blues meanwhile, are fourth-placed in the English top flight.
