Manchester United Target Has His Eye On Move To Arsenal
Despite the summer transfer
window being closed there is still plenty of gossip in the newspapers,
so we’ll keep you up to date on all the latest transfer news. Today,
Manchester United target Sami Khedira has his eye on a move to Arsenal.

Midfielder Sami Khedira wants to
follow former Real Madrid team mate Mesut Ozil to Arsenal despite
interest from Manchester United, according to reports today.
Arsenal pulled off a major coup on
deadline day with the £42.5m capture of Ozil from Madrid and the
playmaker made an excellent start to life in England with a superb debut
display during a 3-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday.
It seems the Gunners have now become a tempting proposition for players with the Daily Star
reporting that Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is also keen to make the
move to the Emirates to play alongside his international team mate.
The newspaper claims that Manchester
United made a failed last ditch attempt to sign Khedira on deadline day
while they were also reportedly interested in Ozil before the
24-year-old ended up making the move to north London.
And it seems the champions could miss
out again if Madrid decide to cash in on Khedira with the 26-year-old
understood to have his eye on linking up with Ozil again at Arsenal. The
former Stuttgart ace recently expressed his disappointment at seeing
his compariot leave the Bernabeu, describing Ozil as a ‘very, very good
friend’:
“Personally, I feel bad about Mesut’s transfer. We are very, very good friends.“His departure is a loss also from a sporting perspective. Mesut can make the difference.” Khedira is quoted as saying by the Star
However, while Khedira may be open to joining Arsenal there is little evidence that Arsene Wenger
want’s the player. Wenger recently re-signed Mathieu Flamini on a free
transfer and with Aaron Ramsey blossoming this season, central midfield
may no longer be an area the French boss thinks needs strengthening.
