Manchester United boss eyes European glory

The Scot is set to begin his first European campaign at the helm of the Red Devils this week with a home tie against Bayer Leverkusen.
Moyes has never managed in the Champions League proper, having been eliminated in a qualifier while in charge of Everton during 2005 by Villarreal.
However, he is confident that with his new squad he can make a real impact on the tournament and is hoping lift the trophy at the end of the season.
“I’ve been excited since joining Manchester United, every game has offered a new challenge,” Moyes told Sky Sports.
“I’m really looking forward to the Champions League. I’ve been there before, with Everton, and we didn’t quite make the Group stages, but this is something different.
“I’m now managing a club which is used to getting to the final stages and we’ll try to do that again.
“I’ve been in the Premier League for a long time now. I’ve always wanted to get to the Champions League and I did everything I could at Everton to try and make that happen.
“I’ve now got another route in with Manchester United and I’m going to do everything I possibly can to win it. That’s the key.”
United endured a disappointing time in the competition last term, as Sir Alex Ferguson’s side were knocked out at the group stage and forced to play in the Europa League.
The Premier League champions are in Group A alongside Tuesday’s opponents Bayer Leverkusen, Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk and shock qualifiers Real Sociedad.
