Chelsea are already to take on Arsenal in battle to secure Schalke’s midfielder Julian Draxler.
According to reports the only reason the powerhouse turned down a move away from the club this summer was because he was concerned about the impact it would have on his World Cup ambitions.
Draxler is one of Germany’s brightest young prospects and was linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid over the summer but reports suggest that concerns about how he would settle in at a new team scuppered any move.
However Chelsea have been reported to be keen on rekindling their interest in January, but with a new contract freshly signed, it is thought that the midfielder would not be available for any less than £35m. (DailyExpress)
Will come at some cost to Mourinho but more importantly can he convince Schalke of a regular first team slot.
