Arsenal and Liverpool on transfer alert

The Japanese international’s current contract is set to expire in a few months’ time, and he has no intention of penning a new deal.
His future has been uncertain for some time, which has seen interest in his signature increase, with AC Milan thought to have been close to tying up a move over the summer.
However, the proposed switch failed to materialise, opening the door for the Premier League trio.
Honda has been a CSKA player since 2010, but admitted that he is likely to leave once his current contract expires.
“I have many choices, but I want to compare as much as possible,” he told the Daily Star.
“I don’t think there’s a chance I will stay in Russia.
“I just need to focus on the Russian league and the Champions League, so I don’t want to talk about this right now.”
The 27-year-old has been a long-term target for Liverpool, and could solve Brendan Rodgers’ quest to add further creativity to his midfield.
Arsenal have also been linked with his signature, while Everton chief Roberto Martinez may move as he looks to impose his own style on the Toffees’ squad.
