Emenike targets Serie A switch
Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has revealed his ambition to play in the Italian Serie A during the course of his career.
Emenike told Eurosport.com that he was interested in a move to Italian Serie A team when asked about his career goal.
“To win every trophy with Fenerbahce. I
want to play for a team in Italian Serie A, one of Italy’s top-level
teams,” the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner said.
He also acknowledged Joseph Yobo big brother role at Fenerbache as well as the support he received from Bruno Alves and Kuyt.
“Best player here? I would say Joseph
Yobo because he is like my brother. When we talk about friendship, that
is Bruno Alves, he has been supportive since I got here. Kuyt too,”
Emenike said.
The 25-year-old has played in Russia
and South Africa. He has been widely linked with a move to the popular
English Premier League.
The former Spartak Moscow star admitted
recently that it would be a “dream” to represent his country at the
2014 World Cup in Brazil, saying the Eagles would play their hearts out
in the second leg playoff against Ethiopia in Calabar on November 16 to
seal their berth in the finals.
“I’m glad to have played in the Africa Nations Cup and won,” Emenike said.
“I’m dreaming of playing in my first
World Cup for Nigeria. That will be the first time I will be at the
World Cup and to get to play in Brazil, where they are crazy about
football, would be a dream come true.”
