CONFIRMED: Arsenal line-up – Jenkinson in for Sagna, Ryo and Gnabry on bench
Here is the Arsenal line-up for this afternoon’s match against West Bromwich Albion:
Starting XI: Szczesny, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, GiroudSubs: Fabianski, Monreal, Vermaelen, Rosicky, Gnabry, Ryo, Bendtner
Arsenal will return to the top of the Premier League table with a point this afternoon, but given their excellent recent form they will be desperate for all three.
West Bromwich Albion will be full of confidence following their outstanding and well-deserved win at Old Trafford last weekend, and The Hawthorns will prove to be a tough arena for Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey et al to perform as they have been doing so far this season.
With Bacary Sagna injured and facing three weeks on the side-lines, Carl Jenkinson is likely to deputise; while the Baggie’s man-of-the-moment Saido Berahino is in line for his first league start.
The Gunners side will be very different from the one that triumphed on penalties in the League Cup last month, and having not lost any of their last six matches at West Brom they will be confident of making that seven.
But Steve Clarke’s side has upset the odds before, and will be quietly confident of taking something from the match if they can replicate last Saturday’s form.
