3SC sack coaches
Shooting
Sports on Tuesday sacked coach Busari Hakeem and his assistant Tunde
Odubola following the Ibadan club’s relegation to the lower league at
the end of the 2012/2013 Nigeria Premier League season.
The team trainer, Adi Haruna, was also
sacked, while goalkeeper trainer Lati Yusuf and team manager, Ajibade
Babalade, were retained.
Hakeem and Odubola were jointly appointed to manage the team following the sacking of Festus Allen last year.
Shooting Stars finished at the bottom of the NPL log with 46 points in 38 games, winning just 13 matches and losing 18.
A statement by the club said that
Hakeem and others were handed their letters of dismissal signed by the
club’s administrative secretary, Adelani Tijani.
“The management of Shooting Stars has
carried out an objective restructuring exercise with the immediate
disengagement of its coaches,” part of the statement read.
“The coaches are required to return
club properties in their possession, while the balance of their
remuneration is being worked out in accordance to their positions and
contracts”
The club’s media officer, Jubril
Arowolo, told our correspondent on the telephone that their replacements
would be unveiled before the new season kicks off next month.
